Our Vision

Youth Leaders Development (YLDO), headquartered in New York, envisions a future where young people across all five continents are empowered to reach their full potential. We are committed to building a world where every youth has the opportunity to thrive. We firmly believe that with the right education, support, resources, and opportunities, young people can achieve greatness, emerge as future leaders, and make a profound positive impact on the world.

As of today, the war between Russia and Ukraine, the conflict in Gaza, and ongoing armed struggles in various countries continue unabated. These crises pose real threats that could potentially trigger a third world war.

A peaceful world belongs to our generation of youth. As a global organization dedicated to youth development, we cannot stand by idly. We must take action now and actively engage in the global movement for peace and harmony.

Our Actions

YLDO calls on youth around the globe to contribute to ending wars and conflicts!

In today’s volatile international climate, despite their young age, youth possess immense potential and influence to change the world. To promote peace and put an end to war, we advocate action in the following five key areas:

⸻

1. Raise Awareness and Expand Knowledge

1. Stay informed and seek the truth

• Gain a deep understanding of global affairs, root causes of war, and peacebuilding efforts through diverse sources such as news, documentaries, courses, and books.

• Develop critical thinking skills, learn to identify misinformation, and resist extremist rhetoric and hate propaganda.

2. Study international law and human rights

• Learn systematically about the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and related international laws to grasp the core principles of peace, justice, and human dignity.

⸻

2. Advocate for Peace and Promote Inclusivity

1. Speak up and spread the message of peace

• Promote the values of peace and inclusion in schools, communities, and on social media, and stand against violence and prejudice.

• Create short videos, write articles, or organize exhibitions to raise awareness of the plight of war refugees, children, and victims.

2. Participate in memorial and awareness campaigns

• Join activities like International Day of Peace (September 21) and United Nations Day (October 24), including peace marches, speech contests, and Model UN simulations.

3. Travel the world and spread the voice of peace

• Collaborate with the UN’s “Harmony for Peace” initiative by driving electric vehicles or sailing ships around the world, ringing the “Harmony Peace Bell” to promote the UN’s peacekeeping spirit.

⸻

3. Engage in Public Service and Volunteerism

1. Support victims of war

• Join charitable projects that assist refugees, war orphans, and post-conflict rebuilding efforts, or contribute through donations and charity sales.

• Get involved with NGOs such as UNICEF and the Red Cross at both international and local levels.

2. Become a peace ambassador

• Participate in “Peaceful Campus” initiatives, intercultural exchange programs, and global youth peace ambassador programs to enhance international understanding and collaboration.

⸻

4. Promote Policy Change and Peace Initiatives

1. Speak out and engage in policy discussions

• Submit letters of recommendation, petitions, or joint appeals to governments and international organizations in support of peace and conflict resolution.

• Advocate for stronger diplomatic efforts and negotiations to resolve conflicts peacefully.

2. Take responsibility and engage in civic life

• Even without voting rights, youth can cultivate civic awareness and a sense of responsibility through platforms like youth parliaments and mock legislative assemblies.

⸻

5. Start with Yourself: Reject Violence and Extremism

1. Say no to bullying and cyber violence

• Promote respect and care in everyday life to create a friendly, inclusive environment for learning and living.

2. Foster global citizenship

• Learn foreign languages, participate in international exchanges, and embrace cultural diversity to reduce misunderstandings and conflict rooted in prejudice.

⸻

Summary:

Though young people may not be able to end wars directly, their beliefs, voices, and actions can play a pivotal role in spreading the ideals of peace and contributing meaningfully to a lasting global harmony.

One-line Message:
